About Bengbu Medical College

In July 1958, in order to speed up the construction of Anhui and change the situation that people in northern Anhui are short of medical treatment and medicines, the state decided to build Bengbu Medical College with the aid of the former Shanghai Second Medical College (now Shanghai Jiaotong University Medical College).

At present, the school is a provincial medical college in Anhui Province, which is the first batch of units with the right to grant bachelor’s and master’s degrees in China, the first batch of pilot universities with excellent doctors’ education and training programs, the first batch of pilot universities with innovative and entrepreneurial training programs for college students, the first batch of pilot universities with professional degree postgraduate training mode reform in master of medicine, the first batch of pilot units for comprehensive reform of universities in Anhui Province, the first batch of units with academician workstations and post-doctoral posts in Anhui Province, and the joint training units for doctoral students in Jinan University and Army Military Medical University. It is a national practice base for college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship, a national off-campus practice education base for college students, and a pilot university for the “5+3” reform of clinical medicine of the Ministry of Education.

Located in Bengbu, an important transportation hub city in the Huaihe River Basin, the school is close to the Huaihe River for thousands of miles, bearing the aura of landscape conservation and spreading the fame of Xinglin to help the world. It has Longzihu Campus, Zhihuai Campus, Hongye Campus, Huaishang Campus and High-speed Railway Campus, covering an area of more than 1,760 mu. Schools give full play to the advantages of scientific research talents in universities and actively serve local economic and social development.
