About Urban Vocational College of Sichuan

Founded in 1999, Urban Vocational College of Sichuan has experienced 10 years of undergraduate education and 10 years of higher vocational education. In 1999, nanyang College of Sichuan Normal college was established. 2002 The college was renamed As The College of Information Technology of Sichuan Normal college. In 2007, due to policy adjustment, Sichuan City Vocational College was established with the approval of the provincial government on the basis of the information Technology College and Foreign Affairs College of Sichuan Normal college, two non-internal secondary colleges of Sichuan Normal college, which also belong to the public and private colleges, recruit students from three secondary colleges and operate according to the new mechanism. In July 2017, the people’s Government of Sichuan province approved the establishment of Sichuan Urban Technician College on the basis of Sichuan Urban Vocational College. At present, there are more than 4000 students in the Technician College. The college has been listed in the “13th Five-Year plan” of Sichuan Province for college establishment.

Since its establishment, the college has adhered to the educational philosophy of “serving the development of urbanization and cultivating talents with technical skills”. It closely meets the needs of regional economic and social development, is oriented to advanced manufacturing industry and modern service industry, synchronizes with the development of urbanization, connects with the construction of Chengdu national central city and Sichuan Tianfu New Area, and insists on the integration of industry and education. Five major clusters have been developed in diverse fields, including new-generation information technology, intelligent manufacturing, smart city, and modern service industry, and more than 60 majors have been formed in 11 major clusters, including civil engineering and architecture, electronic information, transportation, finance and commerce, equipment manufacturing, public administration and services, culture and art, education, and sports.

The college now has two campuses, Chengdu and Meishan. It covers an area of 1,602 mu and has a building area of 530,000 square meters. Meishan Campus buildings, along the mountain and slope, rise and fall, “mountain and college set each other off”, building community dense and orderly, sparse forest grass slope complement each other, the campus environment is very beautiful.
